چکیده

Many stochastic models and analysis techniques have been proposed in the literature during the last two decades for the performance evaluation of parallel and distributed systems. However few of them are directly applicable to practical systems which are generally too complex. In this paper we analyze performances of the master-slave computational model, one of the most commonly used models in parallel and distributed computations. We propose a hybrid analytical approach by using techniques from the theories of both stochastic task graphs and queueing networks. We apply this method to the analysis of a computational chemistry application running on a Transputer based system. The proposed method turns out to be not only very eecient in time for large systems but also very accurate compared to measuring.

Delay-dependent stability for transparent bilateral teleoperation system: an LMI approach

There are two significant goals in teleoperation systems: Stability and performance. This paper introduces an LMI-based robust control method for bilateral transparent teleoperation systems in presence of model mismatch. The uncertainties in time delay in communication channel, task environment and model parameters of master-slave systems is called model mismatch. The time delay in communicatio...

Solving Signal Coordination Problems Using Master- Slave Genetic Algorithms

This paper presents the design of master-slave genetic algorithms (GA) in solving signal coordination problems. When a serial GA is applied, its performance in terms of computation time diminishes as more accurate results (smaller time slices to evaluate flows and queues) of network performances are needed, or the size of signal networks increases. Because GA works with a population of independ...

The Master-Slave Paradigm on Heterogeneous Systems: A Dynamic Programming Approach for the Optimal Mapping

We study the master–slave paradigm over heterogeneous systems. According to an analytical model, we develop a dynamic programming algorithm that allows to solve the optimal mapping for such paradigm. Our proposal considers heterogeneity due both to computation and also to communication. The optimization strategy used allows to obtain the set of processors for an optimal computation. The computa...

Reliability and Performance Evaluation of Fault-aware Routing Methods for Network-on-Chip Architectures (RESEARCH NOTE)

Nowadays, faults and failures are increasing especially in complex systems such as Network-on-Chip (NoC) based Systems-on-a-Chip due to the increasing susceptibility and decreasing feature sizes. On the other hand, fault-tolerant routing algorithms have an evident effect on tolerating permanent faults and improving the reliability of a Network-on-Chip based system. This paper presents reliabili...
